If your cat has long hair, it is important that you make sure it receives regular grooming. In fact, many experts will tell you that daily grooming and brushing is best when a cat is long-haired.
At home, you should take the time to brush your cat regularly to ensure its coat remains smooth and free of knots. You can purchase a slicker brush or a metal comb from any pet store. Both tools are sure to get the job done.
Aside from at-home care, you may wish to bring your cat to a professional groomer 1-2 times a month. While you may be worried about the costs of professional grooming, know that professionals have the training, skill, and ability to keep your cat's coat in tip-top shape. Additionally, because professional groomers are so experienced, they will not cause trauma or injure your cat, which can be devastating not only for your fury feline, but also you as a cat owner.
