Pitbull Saved from Death Row

Not only humans can be given a reprieve on death row. A young pit bull was scheduled to be euthanized for over a year when a judge granted a request to have the animal moved to an animal shelter. The dog in question is a 4-year-old pit bull mix that attacked and injured several dogs last year. Prada escaped from her home in Nashville last year. After the attack took place, local officials declared her to be vicious and took her away from her owner. She waited at the city pound to be euthanized for over a year.
Determined to save Prada, the owner, 35-year-old N.A., went to the courts to petition to have her dog returned. When N.A. started her legal journey, it did not appear as though she had a good chance of winning. Tennessee law states that any dog that causes bodily injury can be put to death. However, the dog was finally granted a reprieve after much help from the public and social media. Now, Prada will be living at a shelter in New Orleans that is home to several other pit bulls as well.
