There are many benefits to spaying and neutering your pet, but unfortunately, for one reason or another, some people refuse to get this procedure done. Some of the benefits to spaying and neutering your pet include:
- Animals that are spayed/neutered tend to live longer lives.
- Spaying and neutering reduces the risk of certain diseases, such as ovarian or uterine cancer in female dogs and cats and testicular or prostate cancer in male dogs and cats.
- Animals that are spayed/neutered tend to be less aggressive and better behaved.
- Animals that have been spayed/neutered are less likely to roam.
- If you do not want your pet to reproduce, then spaying/neutering is essential for preventing unwanted litters of kittens or puppies.
These reasons alone should be enough to convince you of the benefits of getting your pet spayed or neutered. The only time a pet should go without this procedure is you plan to breed the animal.
