Exercising with your dog is not only fun, it is a healthy past time for you and your pets. Depending on the size and breed of your dog, there are different exercise activities for you to choose from.
If you own a large breed dog that is active, such as a Retriever, Husky or a Boxer, you can take them for long jogs or walks in your local park. You can also play fetch with them in your own yard. Should you have a well-trained, sociable dog, you could also go to open areas for hikes and trail walks.
Small dogs may not be as good to run with. So, breeds like Chihuahuas, Yorkies and Pugs may prefer indoor activities like playing fetch or tug-of-war with a chew toy. Some of the smaller breeds are particularly avid jumpers, so this may be a way to get them moving.
All types of exercising, whether running or playing with Frisbees, is great for your dog. Not only will it keep your pet in shape, it is also a great stress reliever for you.
