Did you know that dirty cages can lead to your birds developing serious health problems? Due to the fact that dirty cages can result in health consequences, it is important that bird owners clean cages every day to reduce their pet's risk of infection. Below, we have provided a few daily bird cage cleaning tips:
Every day, make sure that you change the liner in your bird's cage. It is extremely unhealthy for a bird to walk around in discarded food or its droppings. Furthermore, not changing liners each day can lead to the cage smelling.
Clean your bird's food and water bowls daily. Take the bowls out from your bird's cage and then wash them with water and mild dish soap. This will eliminate bacteria and may even prevent your bird from getting sick.
If your bird has perches or toys, try to wipe them down with a wet cloth. Also wipe the surfaces of the cage and remove any stuck on messes to minimize health risks.
