Avoid Feeding Your Dog Human Food during Thanksgiving

Does your dog look lovingly at you when you are sitting down to dinner? Does it know how to cock his head just right in order to get an extra scrap of food? If so, then your canine friend will certainly be excited when Thanksgiving rolls around.
Yet, no matter how cute your dog looks while begging, giving dogs too much "human" food can actually be bad for their health. You may be tempted to share the leftover turkey, mashed potatoes and gravy with your dog, but too much of the good stuff can cause diarrhea or even pancreatitis, a life-threatening disease in dogs.
If your dogs are begging even more around Thanksgiving, consider taking them for a walk. Get them good and tired out by playing outside with them, and your dog will want to sleep instead of sit at your heels and look longingly at the freshly-cooked turkey.
By taking these extra measures, you can protect your pet during this special holiday.
