With the holidays quickly approaching, numerous dog and cat owners are thinking about taking pictures of their pets for holiday cards. If you're thinking about taking a few holiday snapshots with your pet, here are some tips you can follow that will ensure your pictures turn out great:
Try to use natural light and also avoid flash cameras which can cause redeye. Flash cameras may also frighten your pet. If possible, you may want to go outside and take your pictures or sit in a room that has a large window with lots of natural light.
While taking pictures, try to focus on your pet's eyes. Dogs and cats have naturally expressive eyes which only compliment photos.
Make sure that your pet is at ease and feels comfortable. Instead of forcing a position or trying to get your dog or cat to come to you, go down to your pet's level. You can sit on the floor or even kneel beside your pet.
Have your pet perform its favorite trick or try to catch your pet in its natural element. Sometimes, taking a picture of your pet begging or yawning is just what you need to get a few laughs from family and friends.
