Tip to Stop Negative Cat Behavior

If you love your feline but hate dealing with its negative behavior, take a few tips from Jacqui Nelson.
As the president elect of the American College of Veterinary Behaviorists, Nelson has become intimately familiar with common behaviors in cats. For example, if your cat has taken to urinating or defecating around the house, you could solve the problem just by purchasing a larger litter box. She adds that not only do covered boxes make it more difficult for your feline to use the bathroom, "your cat needs to be able to move around" while doing so.
If your cat is acting moody and does not want to be handled, do not force the issue. Give your cat some space and time to calm down. Something may have aggravated your cat, and if you attempt to handle it at that time, you may find yourself with a few scratches.
Should you have additional concerns about your cat's behavior or tendencies, it is a wise idea to consult with your veterinarian.
