Tips for Cleaning Your Bird's Cage

Owning birds can be rewarding and fun. However, in order to ensure the health of your winged friends, you need to take care of their cages on a daily basis. Keeping these tips in mind, your birds will be healthy and happy for a long time. While changing the liner to the bird cage may be unpleasant, it is necessary habit that you must develop. Not only do the birds feel uncomfortable walking about in their own droppings, it is unsanitary and can lead to health problems later on.
Water and food dishes must also be removed and cleaned on a daily basis. Make sure that you wipe down the food dishes with a mild dish detergent and dry them before placing them back into the cage. And finally, take a damp cloth and wipe down all the surfaces in the cage. This includes your bird's favorite perch and toys.
