3 Great Pet Travel Tips

If you are an on-the-go pet owner, you may find that you need to take your pets with you from time to time. For some pet owners, traveling with pets can be particularly daunting, but it doesn't have to be. The next time you find that you need to travel with your dogs or cats, simply follow these three great pet traveling tips:
1) If you are flying to your destination, check with your airline to see what their pet policy is. Some airlines allow you to crate your dogs (they are then stowed with the luggage). Others allow you to take your dog onboard the main cabin if it is in an appropriate carrying case for an additional fee. Ask your airline what their policy is, what their fees are and also make sure that when you board the plane, you tell the flight attendant your dog is with you.
2) When you're on the go, one thing you need to take the time to do is feed your pet. If you purchase no-spill bowls that are travel friendly, it is easy to feed your dog or cat with minimal hassles. Many of these bowls are available for purchase at local pet food and supply stores.
3) Are you driving from place to place with your pets? Remember that it can get hot in vehicles for dogs, cats and other animals. For this reason, try to lower your windows a bit, especially for large dogs that need the extra air. This will ensure that you pets remain cool and enjoy the ride.
